Memorials throughout Oxfordshire and beyond

Saying goodbye to a loved one is never easy, but a memorial can offer an opportunity to celebrate the life of the person that you’ve lost and honour their memory in a way which is completely personal to them. The early stages of losing a loved one can be overwhelming, and the task of organising a funeral comes at a time when you’re often least able to manage. So for many families a small, intimate funeral, followed by a memorial for a larger circle of friends and family can be a great way of remembering with joy, whilst giving yourself space to grieve.

Memorials after direct cremation

An increasing number of people are choosing direct cremation as an alternative to traditional funerals and if this is something that your loved one has chosen, or intends to choose as part of pre-planned end of life arrangements, then a memorial is an important opportunity to bring together family and friends to mourn their passing and celebrate their life.

Memorials can take place anywhere, from a favourite hotel to a beloved local sports club; a woodland hideaway to the top of a hill with views all around. Get in touch to share ideas for your memorial celebration.

What you get when you work with me

Time – I’ll spend time getting to know you and the person that you’ve lost, and I’ll listen carefully to your wishes. All the memories and stories that you share are carefully woven into your memorial to make it completely personal.

Help – No idea where to start with readings, symbolic acts or writing a eulogy? I can help with lots of support and ideas. I’m here for every step along the way to creating a celebration that does you and your loved one proud.

Thoroughness – Every aspect of your ceremony is carefully planned and organised. On the day, I’ll liaise with your venue coordinator and chat with friends and family members, so that everyone is comfortable and ready to play their part.

Above and beyond – I really care about giving you and your family the celebration that you hope for. I also love non-traditional elements … so if there’s something unique that you want to build into your memorial, let me know. Creating a memory box, belting out a favourite song,

Confidence & Professionalism – I hold a Diploma in celebrancy and am a proud member of the Association of Independent Celebrants. You can rest easy, knowing that your memorial is in safe hands.

Anne was the perfect celebrant for the memorial event for my mother. My brother and I felt completely confident that she would set the right tone of warmth and appreciation. Anne went to great trouble beforehand to communicate with us, discuss our preferences and ensure that everything was just as we wanted. We are sure that our mother would have thoroughly approved! – Linda & Rod
