Hello! I’m Anne

I live in North Oxfordshire with my husband, two daughters and a big lazy cat named Morton. I love walking and high places, although my family wishes I didn’t! My happy place is on the beach with my kids at Southbourne and my guilty pleasure is You’ve been Framed – I quite literally cry with laughter. My family’s quite big and we still get together every year at my mum’s for bonfire night, somehow managing to squeeze 16 round the kitchen table.

I was inspired to become a celebrant when we organised my daughter’s naming ceremony. I thought what a privilege it would be to create and deliver such a wonderful celebration, and so … here I am.

Sustainable weddings and ceremonies

Before I became a celebrant, I worked in sustainability for many years and am proudly committed to delivering low impact events for couples and families. For every ceremony I deliver, I plant 25 trees as a contribution towards addressing the impact of my business on the environment. All my couples and families can also add trees, to off-set some, or all of the carbon generated by their event. You can visit our growing forest at Ecologi

Non-religious ceremonies

Like many people, I don’t have a particular faith and I believe that civil ceremonies offer a wonderful alternative to religious celebrations. However, that doesn’t make them any less authentic or meaningful and it’s my quest to create modern ceremonies that are personal to you, that recognise the joy and diversity of life in the 21st century, but that carry moments of reflection too.

Diversity

Relationships and families are formed in all sorts of ways and it’s my ambition to create beautiful events which celebrate the most important moments in people’s lives, in whatever form they might take. So whether you’re gay, straight or somewhere in between; whether your family is formed through adoption, birth or blending; it really doesn’t matter, what matters is that you’re together and you love each other. Every relationship is wonderful and unique and I’d be thrilled to help tell your story.

I’m based in the lovely village of Barford St John on the edge of the Cotswolds, so I cover Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire. I hold a Diploma in Celebrancy and am a proud member of the Association of Independent Celebrants.
