Naming Ceremonies
Naming ceremonies are actually my first love and are what inspired me to become a celebrant. Family means many things to many people, but to me, it doesn’t matter how your family is formed – whether it’s through birth, blending, adoption, surrogacy or donor conception – what matters is that you’re a family and each and every one is worth celebrating.
The process begins with two questionnaires, the first focusing on the key elements that you want to include in our ceremony and the second exploring your family’s unique story. We meet to share ideas about readings, promises and symbolic acts to find those that feel just right for you and then together we finalise the script for your day. You can make as many edits as you like, as I want you to be completely comfortable with the words, and on the day you’ll receive a beautiful copy to keep, with a certificate for parents, guide parents and grandparents to sign.

I’m based in the lovely village of Barford St John on the edge of the Cotswolds, so I cover Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire. If you’re elsewhere during the planning stage, I’m happy to work online.
Fees
Writing and delivering your ceremony will cost £395. This gives you:
Planning meeting.
Draft script.
Advice with readings, staging, symbolic acts and writing your promises.
Unlimited edits.
Meeting with key members of your family and friends on the day, to make sure the ceremony flows seamlessly.
Delivering your ceremony.
Keepsake copy of your script.
Bespoke naming ceremony certificate, co-ordinated with your on the day stationery if you wish.
